Asalamualaykum waramatulahi wabarakatuh
When a child is being born there rites to be done by either the father or the mother. That is what is expected of either of the parent to say or recites on the child. Please enlighten us on this rites according the Quran and sunnah.

Q 476.
There are some tests that say: Adhan should be pronounced in the new born baby's right ear, and Iqoomah in his left ear, but they are weak to be used as Sunna. Allah knows best!

Waalaykum salaam warahmatullah wabarakatuh.What should be done when a baby is given birth to.This is summarized in an hadith repoted by al trimidhee  he said: the Prophert of (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
 “A boy is ransomed by his ‘aqeeqah. Sacrifice should be made for him on the seventh day, he should be given a name and his head should be shaved.” 
 Others are:
  • Tahneek which means putting something sweet, such as dates or honey, in the child’s mouth when he is first born.t was reported that Abu Musa said:


 “I had a baby boy, and I brought him to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). He named him Ibraaheem, did Tahneek with some dates and prayed for Allaah to bless him, then he gave him back to me.”
