Q2. when are we expected to  start our recitation behind the imam?? can we recite Suratul Faatihah before the imam starts his?

Scholars differ on  this because there is no specific evidence on when.
It is better to recite as the Imam recites

We start our surah fatihah recitation behind Imam immediately he gets done with his, without mindful of his recitation of another surah recited after Fatihah. But he needs to recite fast..

You can't recite  Faatiah before the Imam but you can recite each verse after he finishes his.
